Logan?s Heart and Smiles was started 23 years ago out of necessity by a father trying to provide an accessible way into his house for his son. Logan?s Heart and Smiles is growing and looking to hire a full-time Lead Carpenter to join our small and mighty team. Every project is unique, and you will go home at night feeling rewarded. Lead Carpenter Job Summary: The role of this person will be to coordinate projects from the receipt of the application through completion, largely focusing on the building portion. You will work closely with the Executive Director and Program Director throughout the project process. This position provides a flexible work schedule which includes the need for occasional weeknight and/or weekend work. Supervisory Responsibilities: ? Oversee and build most home modifications for the organization. ? Oversee volunteers/groups as necessary on build days. Primary Responsibilities: ? Perform site visits to determine need and constructability. ? Review Scope of Work documents for special projects as not to miss anything. ? Order and schedule material deliveries to job sites. ? Organize and load the van with tools and materials needed for that day?s project(s). ? Build safety, accessibility, and sensory modifications to code and acceptable standards. ? Reorganize and unload the van from the day?s project(s). ? Coordinate or dispose of debris from the project(s). ? Photo documentation throughout the project to be uploaded to Google. ? Photo of completed project with and without people/signage. ? Maintain the van for cleanliness, usability, and serviceability with routine maintenance. ? Maintain backstock of regularly used supplies at the shop and in the van. ? Ability to think outside the box - come up with creative solutions. ? Oversee and lead groups builds. Secondary Responsibilities: ? Work with the staff to: o create a sketch of work to be completed (can be hand or computer drawn). o estimate time and materials needed for the project. o solicit and vet subcontractor pricing as needed. o communicate and schedule projects with clients, volunteers, and subcontractors.

Education and Experience: • Minimum of 5 years experience in a carpentry related field. • Experience working independently and as part of a team. • Experience or knowledge of home renovations/modifications for accessibility and safety preferred but not required.
